ph=12

It doesn't matter unless you dissolve it in a chemical which releases either H+ or OH-. Because of release if H+ or OH- the net concentration increase of either of these which accounts for the increase or decrease in net ph. Although water also breaks down into H+ and OH- but the OH- release form the KOH combines with the H+ from water and an equal amount of OH- from water remains free. So

poh =  - log(oh) \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =  - log(10^{ - 2} )  \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 2

ph=14-poh

=14-2

=12
