A2B3 electrolyte is completely dissociated in
aqueous solution as: A2B3 + 2A + 3B-2
Number of A** ions would be equal to -
(1) B2- ions (2) 3/2 of Bions
(3) 2/3 of B² ions (4) 1/2 of B2 ions

Answer:

There are two ions in A2B3…A3+ andB2-…A containing 3+ charge and B containing 2- charge….

Explanation:

A2B3 electrolyte is completely dissociated in aqueous solution as : A2B3 → 2A+3 + 3B–2 Number of A3+ ions .

On complete dissociation of A2B3 in an aqueous solution the number of A(3+) ions will be equal to 2/3 of the number of B(2-) ions.

  • One molecule of the compound contains two A(3+) ions and three B(2-) ions.
  • Hence on complete dissociation of x molecules of A2B3 in aqueous solution, 2x molecules of A(3+) ions and 3x molecules of B(2-) ions will be produced.
  • Therefore , numbere of A(3+) ions is equal tp 2/3 of the number of B(2-) ions.
