Answer:
10×4 metres of shuttle run
The shuttle run is an athletic event that tests a person’s stamina and speed in running. The 10×4 metre shuttle run is one of the most common events used to measure aerobic fitness. The purpose of this exercise is to assess how many metres a person canrun in ten minutes, at a moderate pace, covering four laps around the track.
The 10x4 metres shuttle run that I participated in at the gym last week was a bucket list item that I had been wanting to do for a while. I had researched the hell out of it and was really looking forward to trying it out.
Initially, what I expected from the run was to be able to run 10 laps in a short period of time. I had done some research and found that the average person can run around 400 meters in a minute. Therefore, based on this, I set my goal to run 400 meters in under 4 minutes.
Once I got to the gym and started the workout, I quickly realized that I would not be able to hit my 400 meter goal. My initial target was too hard and I ended up struggling to run just 100 meters in under 4 minutes. As a result, I decided to change up my goal and set it at 300 meters. After running 300 meters, I felt much more accomplished and was really happy with how my workout went.
If I had not changed my goal, I would have ended up feeling really disappointed with my workout. Instead, because I was able to set a harder goal, I was able to achieve something that I never thought I was capable of. I would definitely recommend setting a harder goal rather than a softer one when trying out a new activity for the first time.
Setting a harder goal than you initially thought you were capable of was a great way to achieve success in my 10x4 metre shuttle run. This allowed me to be happy with my workout, even though I did not hit my original target. I would recommend setting a harder goal the next time you are trying out a new activity for the first time.
