A car is moving along st line as shown in the figure. It
moves from o to P in 18 sec. And returns from P to & in 6 sec
Find average speed and average velocity
i from o to P
i from o to P and back to s.
P
240m

Explanation:

As you know

Average speed= total distance /total time

Average velocity=displacement /total time

1)Average speed=360/18

                           =20m/s

 average velocity=360/18

                             =20m/s

2)Average speed =600/24

                            = 25m/s

 Average velocity=240/24

                              =10m/s

hope it help you

Explanation:

i) average speed=

total distance/time taken

360m/18s=20m/s

average velocity=

final velocity -initial velocity/2

360m-0m/2=180m/s

ii) distance travelled =360m+240m=600m

total time taken=18s+6s=24s

average speed =600m/24s=25m/s

average velocity=displacement/time

240m/12s=20m/s
