Given Information:

A car starts from rest and Rolls down a hill with constant acceleration it travels a distance of 1600 m in 20 seconds. Its acceleration will be

Options:

1. 16m/s²

2. 8m/s²

3. 24m/s²

4. 32m/s²

Solution:

We have,

  • Initial velocity(u) = 0m/s
  • Time(t) = 20s
  • Displacement(s) = 1600m

Using 2nd equation of motion and putting values in the equation, we have,

  • s = ut + 1/2 at²
  • 1600 = 0 + 1/2 × a × 20²
  • 1600 = (400/2)a
  • 1600 = 200a
  • a = 1600/200
  • a = 8m/s² (Option 2) Required Answer
