Answer:

  1. 3/8
  2. 4800

Step-by-step explanation:

let man income be 40(lcm of 8,5)

food=3/8=15

clothes =2/5 of remaining (25)=10 parts

remaining = 15

fraction= 15/40 =3/8

and for next 3/8= 1800

then 1=(1800×8)/3

= 4800

Answer:

The answer will be

(i)9/40

(ii) 8,000.

Step-by-step explanation: Let the income of the person be x.

Hence, expenditure on foods = 3/8 * x;

                                                 = 3x / 8;

and,         expenditure on clothes = 2/5 * x;

                                                       = 2x / 5;

The left money = 1,800;

(i) Now, let the fraction of the income of the person be y or 1,800 , the left money be y.

Then, all the sum of  his income will equal to x.

           3x/8 + 2x/5 + y = x;

          y = x - 2x/5 - 3x/8;

             = (40x -16x - 15x) / 40;

             = 9x / 40;

The required fraction will be 9 / 40.

(ii) When we sum these all, we'll get x;

Therefore,              \frac{3x}{8} + \frac{2x}{5} + 1800 = x ;

                              \frac{15x + 16x + 72000}{40} = x;

                              21x + 72000 = 40x;

                              72000 = 40x - 21x;

                              9x = 72000;

                              x = 72000 / 9;

                              x = 8,000;

That's all.
