Let one number be x

Let other number be \dfrac{5x}{8}

A.T.Q.

x + \dfrac{5x}{8} = 104

\dfrac{8x+5x}{8} = 104

\dfrac{13x}{8} = 104

13x = 104 × 8

13x = 832

x = \dfrac{832}{13}

x = \dfrac{\cancel{832}}{\cancel{13}}

x = 64

So the other number is \dfrac{5}{8} of 64

=> \dfrac{5}{8} × 64

=> 5 × 8

=> 40

∴ The numbers are :- 64,40
