Given

  • Length =80m

  • Breadth =40m

  • Width = 2.5m

So, Area of length wise path =80×2.5=200m²

Area of breadth wise path =40×2.5=100m²

(i) Total area =200+100−2.5×2.5m ²

=300−6.25=293.75m²

(ii) Area of unshaded portion :-

Area of garden − Area of paths

=80×40−293.75m²

=3200−293.75m²

=2906.25m²

Explanation:

Given

Length of rectangular garden =80m

and breadth =40m

Width of crossing path 2.5m

So,

Area of length wise path =80×2.5=200m

and

Area of breadth wise path =40×2.5=100m

(i) Total area of both paths

=200+100−2.5×2.5m

=300−6.25=293.75m

(ii) Area of unshaded portion

= Area of garden − Area of paths

=80×40−293.75m

=3200−293.75m

=2906.25m.

Hope it may help you
