Acids are sour in taste.

It is corrosive in nature.

There pH value is less than 7.

They produce Hydrogen ion.

Acid can conduct electricity.

Example :- Lemon , vinegar etc.

They can change blue litmus paper to red.

Chemical Properties of Acids :

Acid + Metal → Salt + Hydrogen

Metal Carbonate/ Hydrogen carbonate + Acid → Salt + Carbon dioxide + Water

Base + Acid → Salt + Water

Metal Oxide + Acid → Salt + Water
