10. At a hill station the temperature on 1st Jan was -
2°C, and then it dropped by 3°C on 2nd Jan. On
3rd Jan., it rose by 5°C.
On the basis of above information, answer the
following:
(1) What was the temperature on 2nd Jan.?
(ii) What was the temperature on 3rd Jan.?
(ii) From 1st to 3rd Jan. which day was coldest
and which was the hottest?
(iv) What was the difference between the
temperatures on 1st Jan. and 3rd Jan.?​

Answer:

  1. The temperature on 2nd Jan was -1°C
  2. The temperature on 3rd Jan was 6°C
  3. 2st Jan was coldest and 3rd Jan was the hottest
  4. The difference was of 4°C

Explanation:

on 2nd Jan the temperature dropped.

So subtract the temperature on the First Day and temperature it dropped by.

On 3rd add the temperature of 2nd Jan with the temperature which rose ( i.e 5°C)

After that the problem is simple.
