Answer:

5:30 am – wake up, wash your face, have a glass of warm water with lemon, a few more glasses of water and eat a fruit like a banana or papaya. This will not only give you nutrients, but also the sugar in the fruits will give your brain a burst of energy to start the day.

6:00am to 7:00am – This is the time to exercise. Morning workouts are a great way to increase your energy for the entire day, plus the air outdoors is cleaner and fresher than in the evenings. So go to the gym, walk, swim or play a sport, do yoga or meditate.

7:00 to 8:00am – Shower and have a good breakfast with proteins and complex carbohydrates. A high protein breakfast is very important in keeping you healthy during your growing years. So keep that packaged cereal box away, and reach out to the egg whites, milk, curd, sprouts, oats, dalia or a nutritious smoothie.

8:30 am to 3:30 pm – School or college routine. Make sure you have a balanced lunch with greens, fibre and protein. And a mid-morning healthy snack and lots of water during the day.

4:00 pm – Come home and Have a healthy snack before going for tuitions e.g. salad with sprouts, paneer/tofu/ egg whites with chia seeds.

4:00 to 5:30 pm – Typically either tuitions or home work

6:00 – 6:30 pm – Chill time with friends and family. Have a salad, or a handful of peanuts and some dry fruits. Hydrate

6:30pm to 7:30 pm – Sit with a different subject every day during this slot. This is a good time to prepare notes, understand basics, make diagrams, tables, flash cards, mind maps etc. Try to make it interesting so that you understand the concepts well. Even if you thoroughly grasp one concept every day it is a big step in the right direction.

7:30 – 8:00 pm – Dinner time with family, have a healthy meal with greens and protein. Check Social media

8:00 to 8:30 pm – It is often said that if you want to develop a skill for a lifetime, practice it for 15 minutes everyday. So here is our chance to not only follow our passion but also develop our profile for college admissions later on. Practice the guitar, work for a social cause, or write a blog, anything that excites you. Just put in 20 minutes every day and on Fridays we will get a longer chunk of time from 8:00 pm to 10 pm to pursue this in depth.

Many students come to me and say that our extra curriculars do not look substantial enough and we wish to apply to universities in the US, so what should we do. And sometimes a last minute quick fix is just not good enough. So this is a secret recipe of developing a winning profile, but building on an area of passion steadily every day and every week. If you persist with this for just this small amount of time every week, by the end of 3 or 4 years it will become a substantial and very admirable portfolio.

8:30 pm to 9:00 pm – (Monday to Thursday) Organise yourself for the next day, filing, packing bag. One of our goals was to prepare ourselves for a successful life, and organising, filing, sorting and arranging our reading material, our room and our books is a very important part of leading an organised life.

9:00 to 10:00 pm – (Monday to Thursday) study a different subject at this time. It is important to use this last session to take up stuff that needs memorisation. When you learn important material just before going to bed, the sub conscious mind works on it and you remember it better in the long term

10:00 – 10:30 pm – Unwind, clear up your study space, relax, and get into bed – Avoid screen time at this stage. On Fridays you can extend this to 11 pm
