10) a) parasitism is an interaction in which one organism is harmed and the other one is benefited. It is a (+,-) interaction. The one which is harmed is the host and the one benefitted is the parasite.

b) Aestivation is just like hibernation. The only difference is Hibernation is winter sleep and aestivation is summer sleep

c) Amensalism is an interaction in which one organism is harmed and the other is neither harmed nor benefitted. It is a (0,-) interaction.

12) Atavism is the appearance of certain ancestral characters like tail in human baby.

13) Klinefelter's syndrome occurs due to trisomy of sex chromosomes. It is a XXY condition in which male develop feminine characters like enlarged breast. These humans are sterile. This condition is due to fusion of normal egg (AA+X) with abnormal sperm (AA+XY) or due to fusion of abnormal egg (AA+XX) with normal sperm (AA+Y).

14) Biomagnification is the increase in concentration of non biodegradable substances in successive trophic levels. Eg DDT Biomagnification in aquatic food chain

15) National Park is an insitu conservation of animals in their own habitat where they are given care.

16) Refer to attachment. 50% sons are haemophillic and 50% normal. 50% daughters are carriers and 50% normal.

18) When two alleles express themselves independently when present together and are dominant over an allele it is codominance. Eg: ABO Blood Grouping

Ia allele and Ib allele are independent of each other but are codominant over Io allele

19) Callus is the medium or nutrient solution in which tissue culture is done

pisciculture is the rearing of fishes

21) A drug especially narcotic one acts on CNS which makes one to crave for it again. It binds with the receptors present in brain and we become addicted to it. Incase one does not take the drug later after trying for first time they will show withdrawal symptoms.
