On the basis of softness and hardness, the materials are classified into soft and hard materials:- 1. Soft materials:- Materials that can be compressed or scratched easily are called soft. Examples are cotton, sponge, etc. 2. Hard materials:- Materials that can not be compressed or scratched easily are called hard. Examples are steel, iron, etc.
