★ RECTILINEAR MOTION :

The motion in which the direction of the velocity remains constant. The path is a straght line in the rectilinear motion.

• The example of rectilinear motion is the elevator movement.
• There are three types of rectilinear motion :

1. Uniform rectilinear motion.
2. Uniform accelerated rectilinear motion.
3. Non - uniform acceleration.

• When the object is moving in a straight line and are parallel then they are said to be rectilinear motion.

★ CURVILINEAR MOTION :

When the object is moving in the curved path is called curvilinear motion.

• Curvilinear motion is more complex than rectilinear motion.
• In curvilinear motion, the curved path can be of three dimensions.
