★ RECTILINEAR MOTION :
The motion in which the direction of the velocity remains constant. The path is a straght line in the rectilinear motion.
- The example of rectilinear motion is the elevator movement.
- There are three types of rectilinear motion :
- Uniform rectilinear motion.
- Uniform accelerated rectilinear motion.
- Non - uniform acceleration.
- When the object is moving in a straight line and are parallel then they are said to be rectilinear motion.
★ CURVILINEAR MOTION :
When the object is moving in the curved path is called curvilinear motion.
- Curvilinear motion is more complex than rectilinear motion.
- In curvilinear motion, the curved path can be of three dimensions.
