2. Active voice is the voice when the subject acts upon its verb.
3. On the other hand, passive voice is the voice when the subject undergoes the action by the verb.
4. An example of active voice is - I completed my homework before dinner.
5. Example of passive voice - My homework was completed by me before dinner.

• An active voice indicates the action that is done by the subject whereas a passive voice indicates that the action is done by the object.

Rules:

Exchange the places of the subject and object. While converting a sentence from active to passive we should convert the main verb into its past participle which is also known as the third form of a verb. We should always use the word "by" in the passive sentence.
