+ The great Indian desert is also known as the Thar desert.
+ It is a very arid region in the northwestern part of India covering the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.
+ It also forms a natural boundary between India and Pakistan.
+ It is the 17th largest desert in the world.
+ The main vegetation found there is thorny bushes and scrubs and the main animal found is Camel, Black buck and Indian Gazelle.
+ Though it is a hard place to live in, it is still the most populated deserts of the world.
+ Camel safaris are one of the main tourist attractions in this desert.
+ The mai. crops grown there are Kharif crops like Bajra, Jowar, Sesame and Groundnuts, etc.
