10. Figure 15.36 represents a square piece of
land with a circular grass bed in its centre.
Find the:
a) area of the whole land.
b) area of the grass bed.
c) area of the land excluding the grass bed​

a) Area of the whole land

Area of the square = (side)²

= (10)²

= 100 .. (ans)

b) Area of the grass bed

Diameter of the circle = 6m

Radius of the circle = 6/2 m

= 3m.

Area = πr²

= 22/7 × 3²

= 198/7 ... (ans)

c) Area of the land excluding the grass bed

Area of the land excluding the grass bed = Area of the wholeland - Area of the grass bed

=> 100 - 198/7

=> 602/7

=> 86 ...(ans)
