Answer:

Given:

Find the remainder when polynomial x + 2x - 3x^2 + x -1 is divided by x + 2 .

We will find this by remainder theorem.

P(x) = x + 2x - 3x^2 + x -1 and g(x) = x+2

If g(x) is divisible by p(x) then the remainder Will be zero so x+2= 0

x = -2

So putting the value of g(x ) in p(x)

p(-2) = -2 + 2(-2) - 3(-2)^2 + (-2) -1

= -2 (-4) -12 - 3

= -2 -4 - 12 - 3

= -6 - 15

= -21

Here p(x) is not equal to zero

And remainder = -21
