Given

  • one is 3 times the other

  • their difference is 134

To Find

  • Two numbers

Solution :

Let, the no. be x

Their difference = 134

3x - x = 134

2x = 134

x = 134/2

x = 67

Value of 1st no. = x

Value of 1st no. = 67

Value of 2nd no. = 3x

Value of 2nd no. = 3 × 67

→ Value of 2nd no. = 201

Let one number be 'x'

Let other number be 'y'

 \:\:

 \rm \longmapsto x - y = 134 ------(2)

 \underline{\bold{\texttt{Putting x = 3y in (2) }}}

 \:\:

 \sf \implies  3y - y = 134

 \:\:

 \sf \implies  2y = 134

So,

 \:\:

x - 67 = 134
