The limiting reagent in any equation is the reagent which has the lowest quantity in the balanced equation i.e
N2 + 3H2 -> 2NH3
The quantity of hydrogen in the reaction is 12 g and that of nitrogen is 28g and that of ammonia is 34g . So the reagent which is in limited amount is hydrogen so if there is less hydrogen ( i.e less than 12g acc. To this equation) the reaction doesn't take place. Whereas changes in nitrogen donot effect the reaction to a larger extent. Hence hydrogen is the limiting reagent for this reaction.
