because there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in a human body in egg there are X+X and in sperm X+Y

so, that depends on the kind of sperm fuseing with the egg

if the sperm carrying the Y chromosomes fuses the child will be a female and if the sperm carrying the X chromosomes fuses the child will be a male
