Mass by mass % = mass of solute / mass of solution * 100

Here we have

Solute - alum ( 10 gms)

Solvent -90gms( water)

Solution = 90+10=100 gms

So, % of solute = 10/100*100=10%

% Of solvent = 90/100*100=90%
