the given data can be written as proportions 10 horses : 18 bushels :1/36 days
for 30 horses 54 bushels lasts for 12 days .
24 bushels might end up in 5 days

anudeepnarayanavanam: the given data will be constant proportions .so the answer will be 48 days
yasummu: then what?
anudeepnarayanavanam: sorry th duration is inversely proportional I made a mistake
yasummu: ha then edit it
yasummu: whatever correct change do it and please explain it to me in simple words it would also be useful for the one who asked thjis q
anudeepnarayanavanam: is it enough

first divide no. of bushels with no. of horse
this means 1 horse consume 1.8 bushels in 36days
so 24 bushels ÷ 30 horses = 0.8
1.8:36::0.8:x
1.8x=28.8
x=16
so 30 horses consumes 24 bushels in 16 days

yasummu: I too thought  the same but was not confident
