The lady was grateful to Mr Herriot because, in a fortnight, he made Tricki a muscled-dog from an obese and ill dog just because he was kept on a good diet and was made to run and play with other household dogs at the surgery. As he ate less and ran and played more, he became back to normal.

Mrs. Pumphrey was very worried about her dear dog Tricki, who was ill and had to undergo a surgery,but Dr. Herriot was successful in the surgery and cured Tricki to turn into a fit dog. Thus, Mrs. Pumphrey was very happy and grateful to Dr. Herriot and, even complimented it as a victory over the surgery.
