10 important incidents from the life of helen keller
Answers
This really doesn’t answer the question directly but please consider reading any books by Helen Keller, especially her autobiography The Story of My Life, or books by Anne Sullivan, her teacher.
Most of Helen Keller’s life was amazing in itself. With no ability to hear or see, she had original thoughts which she was able to communicate to others. She went to college and achieved a degree when few women of her time did. While this seems somewhat shallow to say, she was attractive to others by the standards of her era, an impressive achievement which helped her connect to others. Her writings are not just inspiring in the way you’d expect (overcoming adversity). They are really truly interesting and unique, and useful to anyone seeking to be real in one’s own life. They also offer some very valuable approaches to teaching all children, not solely those with disabilities. Of course some of her accomplishments were impossible without Anne Sullivan. But considering that she had to get all her knowledge of reality through only touch, taste, smell, and imagination, she was just plain astonishing.
