Question

10. In a dictation test of 20 words, Rohan spelled 18 words correctly. Find the ratio of,

(a) total words to wrongly spelled words.

(b) correctly spelled words to wrongly spelled words.

ANSWER :

Total words in the dictation test = 20

Total words that Rohan spelled correctly = 18

Words that Rohan spelled wrong = 20 - 18 = 2

Now,

To be found :-

(a) Ratio of total words to wrongly spelled words.

(b) Ratio of correctly spelled words to wrongly spelled words.

So,

(a) Ratio of total words to wrongly spelled words

=  \frac{20}{2}

= \frac{10}{1}

= 10:1

(b) Ratio of correctly spelled words to wrongly spelled words

= \frac{18}{2}

= \frac{9}{1}

= 9:1

Hence,

Ratio of total words to wrongly spelled words is 10:1

Ratio of correctly spelled words to wrongly spelled words is 9:1
