Given :-

  • DE || QR .
  • PE = 2 cm.
  • PD = 3 cm.
  • QD = 4.5 cm.

To Find :-

  • RE = ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points, then the other two sides are divided in the same ratio. { Also called BPT(Basic Proportionality Theorem) } .

since DE || QR .

so,

→ PD/DQ = PE/ER (By BPT)

putting values we get,

→ (3/4.5) = (2/RE)

→ (30/45) = (2/RE)

→ (2/3) = (2/RE)

→ RE = 3 cm (Ans.)
