10 investors bought 3 stocks each and any two of them bought at least one stock in common. For the stock owned by most people, what is the minimum number of people who have bought it?

To answer your question in short, NO! it does not matter whether you buy 10 shares for $100 or 40 shares for $25. Many brokers will only allow you to own full shares, so you run into issues if your budget is 1000$ but the share costs 1100$ as you can't buy it.
