Dear Uncle,
Today, I am very happy and feeling majestic. I was awarded by the District Administrator. I felt very proud having helped a child who was about to drown in the pond, near Kailashpur. I thanked Mom and Dad, because they ingrained in me this quality; and also my P.E. teacher-Mr Rajesh Sharma.
I went out for a stroll, for, as you know, I love observing villages. I saw many people encircled. On tearing through the crowd, I saw a boy about to drown in the pond. Without having a second thought, I dived in the pond, swam to him and helped him out. When I laid him on the ground, he was breathless. I pushed his chest hard, in the hope to get out the water. But all in vain. I tried for the last time, and thank God, water shot out from his mouth, and he opened his eyes.
I feel happy not because I am rewarded, but that I saved a life. And got the opportunity to be a role model.
