Job A = 10 men & 15 days

Job B = 15 men & 20 days

25 men done the job in 35 days

so 25 = 35

∴ 30 = 30/25 × 35

       = 42 days

30 men can do both the jobs in 15 days.

GIVEN

Days taken by 10 men to do job A = 15 days

Days taken by 15 men to do job B = 20 days

TO FIND

Days taken by 30 Men to do both jobs

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Number of days taken by 10 men to do job A = 15 days

Days taken by 1 Man to do job A = 15 × 10 = 150 days

Similarly,

Number of days taken by 15 men to do job B = 20 days

Days taken by 1 man to do Job B = 20×15 = 300 days

Days taken by 1 man to do Job A + B = 300 + 150 = 450 days

Days taken by 30 men to do Job A + Job B = 450/30 = 15 days.

Hence, 30 men can do both the jobs in 15 days.
