10 moles of an ideal gas compressed from 100 L to 10 L reversibly at constant temperature of 27°C. The entropy change during the process is (R = Universal gas constant)​

Given,

A mole of an ideal gas =10mol

Initial volume (V 1 )=100 dm 3

Final volume (V 2 )=10dm 3

Temperature =27c

Solution :

To find entropy change in the isothermal process.

ΔS=nRln( V2/V1 )

or

ΔS=nRln( P1/P2 )

ΔS=10×8.314×ln(10/100)

=191.43 J/molK

So the entropy change during the process is 191.43J/molk
