1. 1753 in Governor Dinwiddie sent George Washington who was 21 years old at the time to southwestern Pennsylvania with an order to the French forces to vacate the area that they were arguing over - Ohio Valley. the French refused in 1754. when this happened George Washington brought a force of men and ambushed a small scouting party

2. it is apart of the first global war. the 1754 war sparked the Seven Years' War

3. the Seven Years' War was actually nine years. Britain declared war in 1756 and the ratification of the Treaty of Paris by the British parliament started the war finally in 1763

4. Most Native American tribes sided with the French however some stayed neutral and a good amount of them fought for the British and shifted sides of allegiances

5. Benjamin Franklin was inspired to draw a political cartoon demonstrating his plan for a unified colonial government

6. the French speaking Catholics feared subversion because in the 1750's the British expelled so many Acadians and so many of them fled to American colonies including France. many then moved to Louisiana which was French controlled. there they went from being called Acadians and became named  Cajun
