Questions: 10% of the Sheep in a farm died in a flood. 40% of the remaining died due to a disease. if 594 Sheep were alive, find the original number of Sheep in the farm?

Method of Solution:

Let to the total number of Sheep in the farm = x

Now, According to the Question's Statement!

10% of the goats in a farm died in a flood.

10/100 × x

=> 10x/100

=>0.1x

Remaining Sheep = x -0.1x = 0.9x

Now, In flood 40% of the remaining died due in some disease

40% of 0.9x

=> 40/100×0.9x

=> 36x/100

Finally Remaining Sheep = 9x/100-36x/100 => 54x/100

Given: Number of sheep's alive = 594

54x/100 = 594

54x = 59400

=> x = 1100

Hence ,Total Number of sheep's in the farm = 1,100.

Let the original number of Sheep= x

10% of x died in flood

Remaining goat = 0.9x

Number of goat died due to diseases = 40% of 0.9x = 0.36x

Remaining = 0.9x - 0.36x = 0.54

0.54x so, x = 594/0.54 = 1100
