Given that,

Resistance of electric heater, R = 10 ohms

Voltage, V = 110 V

To find,

Rate of development of heat.

Solution,

Due to flow of electric current, heat is developed in the resistor. It is given by :

H=I^2Rt

Rate of development of heat,

\dfrac{H}{t}=I^2R\\\\\dfrac{H}{t}=\dfrac{V^2}{R^2}\times R\\\\\dfrac{H}{t}=\dfrac{V^2}{R}\\\\\dfrac{H}{t}=\dfrac{(110)^2}{10}\\\\\dfrac{H}{t}=1210\ J/s

So, the rate of development of heat is 1210 J/s.
