Given: 10pipes required to fill a tank in 60minutes.

We have to find the time required to fill 5pipes.

We are solving in the following way:

Let the desired time to fill the tank be xminutes.

We have,

10pipes required to fill a tank in 60minutes.

As we know that the lesser the number of pipes, the more will be the time required by it to fill the tank.

So, this is a case of inverse proportion.

\therefore 60\times10=x\times 5\\=>600=5x\\\\=>x=\frac{600}{5} \\\\=>x=120

Hence, the time is taken to fill the tank by5 pipes will be120 minutes or 1hours.

Answer:

Time required to fill a tank by using 5 pipes is 12 minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find-

Time required to fill a tank by using 5 pipes

Solution-

Here work done means fill the tank .

Workers means pipe and time in a minutes

∴ Work done = Workers × Time

10 pipes required to fill a tank 60 minutes. (Given)

we can write it as,

work done = 10×60       (1)

Then we have to find a time required to fill tank let it is x

we can write second equation as ,

work done = 5× x    (2)

As both equation as work done

By equating equation (1) and (2)

10 × 60 = 5 × x

60 = 5x\\\frac{60}{5} = x\\12=x

So, Time required to fill a tank by using 5 pipes is 12 minutes.
