বৃদ্ধি করলে বর্গক্ষেত্রের ক্ষেত্রফল শতকরা কত বৃদ্ধি পাবে?

What is the percentage increase in the area of ​​the square?

Solution:

Let,

"s" → the length of the side of the original square

"s'" → the length of the side of the new square

The length of the side of a square is increased by 10%

i,e., s' = s + \frac{10}{100}s = \frac{110s}{100} =   1.1s

The area of the original square = side² = s²

The area of the new square = s'² = (1.1s)² = 1.21s²

Now,

The percentage increase in the area of ​​the square is,

= \frac{New \:Area - Old \:Area}{Old\:Area} \times 100

= \frac{1.21s - s}{s} \times 100

= \frac{0.21s}{s} \times 100

= \bold{21\%}

Thus, the percentage increase in the area of ​​the square is → 21%.
