cathode positive terminal and anode and negative terminal of battery does they are on opposite side of the battery

Explanation:

Anode is negitively charged whereas cathode is positively charged during electrolysis or electroplating negitively charge ions get stuck to positively charge cathode and positively charge ions gets attracted towards the negatively charged ions

Here silver is positively charged and spoon is acting as a annode due to which silver gets stucks on the spoon if we bring them in contact the process of electroplating will not occur at first place hence it is said that we should not bring anode in contact of cathode
