David Livingstone was born many years ago at a small village in Scottland. His father was a poor man. So David was sent to work in a cotton mill at the age of ten. After a long day at the loom he would read books at home at night until his mother ordered him to bed. As he grew older, David began to go to school in the evening. In this way he learnt a good deal of Latin, Greek and Medicind. And there he gave up his work in the cotton mill and went to Africa to find rivers and lakes in the dark land and to teach the people there the store of the Bible
