a) 5m + 10 n = x

b) 2m + 5n =y

Step-by-step explanation:

a. The total money Roshni had(x) can be written as 5m + 10 n = x

  • Five multiplied by m will give the money she has in the form of 5 rupee coins and
  • 10 multiplied by n will give the money she has in the form of 10 rupees.
  • When both are added, we get the total money, she has.

b. In a similar way we can write the expression for her brother.

Let, the total money the brother has be y

2m + 5n =y
