साफ-सफाई एक अच्छी आदत है जो स्वच्छ पर्यावरण और आदर्श जीवन शैली के लिये हर एक के पास होनी चाहिये। हमारे प्रधानमंत्री ने स्वच्छता अभियान शुरु किया है जिसे “स्वच्छ भारत” या “स्वच्छ भारत अभियान 2013 ” कहा जाता है। हमें ये समझना चाहिये कि ये केवल हमारे प्रधानमंत्री का कार्य नहीं है, बल्कि ये समाज में रहने वाले हर इंसान की जिम्मेदारी है। हम सब के स्वस्थ जीवन के लिये इस अभियान में हमें मिलकर भाग लेना चाहिये।
इसकी शुरुआत घरों, स्कूलों, कालेजों, समुदायों, कार्यालयों, संस्थानों से हो जिससे कि देश में व्यापक स्तर पर स्वच्छ भारत क्रांति हो। हमें खुद को, घर, अपने आसपास, समाज, समुदाय, शहर, उद्यान और पर्यावरण आदि को रोज स्वच्छ रखने की जरुरत है। हम सभी को स्वच्छता का ध्येय, महत्व तथा जरुरत को समझना चाहिये और इसे अपने दैनिक जीवन में लागू करना करना चाहिये। कई क्रियाओं के द्वारा स्कूलों में बच्चों के बीच स्वच्छता को प्रचारित किया जाता है जैसे स्कूल परिसरों की सफाई, क्लासरुम की सफाई, लैब की सफाई, स्वच्छता पर पोस्टर बनाना, गंदगी को अलग करना, निबंध लिखना, स्वच्छता पर पेंटिंग बनाना, कविता पाठन, समूह चर्चा, डॉक्यूमेंटरी वीडियों आदि।
