Newtons Second Law :-

The rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the applied force, and takes place in the direction in which the force acts.

Force Change in momentum/Time taken

➞ F ∝ mv - mu/t

➞ F ∝ m( v - u)/t

  • a = v - u/t

➞ F ∝ m × a

➞ F = k × m × a

➞ F = m × a

Force = Mass × Acceleration

Newtons First law :

A body at rest will remain at rest, and a body in motion will continue in motion in a straight line with uniform speed, unless it is compelled by an external force to change its state of rest or of uniform motion.

Newtons Third law :

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

  • Newton's second law of motion

Definition

In the second law, the force on an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration

Formula

f = ma

  • Newton's first law of motion

Definition

In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it.

Formula

v = u + at

  • Newton's third law of motion

Definition

In the third law, when two objects interact, they apply forces to each other of equal magnitude and opposite direction.

Formula

v² = u² + 2ah
