AnSwer -:

The other parallel sides -: 15 cm

__________________________________________________________

Explanation-:

Formula of area of trapezium-:

“A = 1/2 x h (a+b)”

A = Area

H = height

(A +b) = sum of parallel sides

Given ,

Area of trapezium-: 175 cm^2

Height of trapezium = 10 cm

One parallel side of trapezium = 20 cm

To find ,

Other parallel side of trapezium

_______________________________

Let the other parallel side of trapezium

be y.

Formula of area of trapezium-:

“A = 1/2 x h (a+b)”

A = Area =175 cm^2

H = height= 10 cm

(A +b) = sum of parallel sides = (20 + y )

Then ,

1/2 x 10 (20 + y) = 175 cm^2

= 5 x (20 + y) = 175 cm^2

= 20 + y = 175/5

= 20 + y = 35

= y = 35 - 20

= y = 15

Therefore

The other parallel sides -: 15 cm

Verification-:

Formula of area of trapezium-:

“A = 1/2 x h (a+b)”

A = Area =175 cm^2

H = height= 10 cm

(A +b) = sum of parallel sides = (20 + 15)

Then ,

= 1/2 x 10 (20 +15) = 175 cm^2

= 5 (20 +15 ) = 175 cm^2

= 5 x 35 = 175 cm^2

= 175 cm^2 = 175 cm^2

Therefore,

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
