the numerator. If the numerator and denominator
are both increased by 1, the fraction becomes 3/5.

And 2x-1 = y. Or 2x-y=1 (First equation)

On adding 1 in both

x+1/y+1 =3/5

5x+5 = 3y+3

5x-3y = 3-5

5x-3y = -2. ( Second equation)

Multiply first equation by 3

6x-3y = 3

5x-3y = -2

After cancelling y

X = 5

2x-y = 1

2×5-y =1

-y = 1-10

-y = -9

Or y = 9

So the fraction is 5/9
