10. The HCF of two numbers is 145 and their LCM is 2175. If one number is
725, find the other.​

We know that,

LCM × HCF = 1st no. × 2nd no.

2175× 145 = 725 × 2nd no.

2175× 145/ 725 = 2nd no.

435 = 2nd no.

So, The other number is 435

Relation between HCF and LCM of two numbers a and b is Product of two numbers = HCF × LCM

According to the given problem,

HCF = 145 ,LCM = 2175,

One number = a = 725

Let the second number = ba × b = HCF × LCF

So,

b = ( HCF × LCM ) / a

b = ( 145 × 2175 )/ 725

After cancellation ,

b = 145 × 3 = 435

Therefore ,

Second number = b = 435
