Step-by-step explanation:

present ages of damini and kangana are in the ratio of 3 ratio 4 let their common multiple X so the age of damini is3x and the age of kangana is 4x

so after 5 years the age of damini is 3 X + 5 and the age of kangana after 5 years is 4 x + 5

so 3 X + 5: 4 x + 5 is equal to 4 ratio 5

on cross multiplying

5(3x+5)=4(4x+5)

15x+25=16x+20

16x-15x=25-20

X=5

So,Damini age=3x=3×5=15

And,kangana age=4x=4×5=20

|| SOLUTION ||

Let the present age of Damini = 3a

Let the present age of Kangana = 4a

After 5 years , Age of Damini will be = 3a + 5

After 5 years , Age of Kangana will be = 4a + 5

Given,

  • 3a +5 : 4a + 5 = 4 : 5

 \implies \:  \dfrac{3a + 5}{4a + 5} =  \dfrac{4}{5}

On cross multiplication ,

5(3a + 5) = 4(4a + 5)

15a + 25 = 16a + 20

15a - 16a = 20 - 25

 - a =  - 5

 \therefore \: a = 5

So , Present age of Damini = 3a = 3×5 = 15 years.

Present age of Kangana = 4a= 4×5 = 20 years.
