Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Points to be remembered

  • Sum of no.'s = -5/11
  • Let the numbers be x , y
  • So , given on of the no. is 3/13 , so either x or y = 3/13 . Lets take x

So by the given information , x + y = -5/11

⇒ x + y = -5/11

⇒ 3/13 + y = -5/11

⇒ y = -5/11 - 3/13

⇒ y = ( -65 - 33 )/143

⇒ y = -98/143

Hence , y = -98/143

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the other number be x

ATQ

x +  \frac{3}{13}  =  \frac{ - 5}{11}  \\ \\ \sf\longmapsto x =  \frac{ - 5}{11}  -  \frac{3}{13}  \\ \\ \sf\longmapsto  x = \frac{ - 65 - 33}{143}  \\ \\ \sf\longmapsto x =   \frac{ - 98}{143}
