Life could not exist on Earth without trees because they produce most of the oxygen that humans and wildlife breathe. There would also be no rain without trees since trees absorb water from the soil and release it through evapotranspiration. With the help of photosynthesis process the leaf's on the trees release oxygen to the environment, if no more trees on earth then whole ecosystem will abrupt, which leads to diminish the human mankind.
However, because there are no plants, animals would have to eat each other. By my calculations, the time for the population to die out would be 5023.3 days, or 13.75 years. So we would run out of food long before we ran out of breathable air, and life on Earth would rapidly collapse within our lifetimes.
