Hi!
From generations in India a girl child has been discriminated. The elders for example, grandparents have this old ideology that a girl is born to work as a slave in her house, to care for her husband and in-laws and produce kids. In earlier days girls were prohibited from going to school and were married off at a very young age take for example, 5 years. They became mothers at the age of 13-14 years when they were not even physically or emotionally ready for this change. At this age they should have been studying in schools. The position of boys were a lot different from the girls. They were allowed to go to schools and do whatever they wanted to do. It was seen that a woman needed a man to protect her. It was believed that an educated woman would disobey her husband. So, girls were restricted from going to school whereas boys became the earning man of their families. But, times have changed and we can see a lot of girls going to school. Nowadays, they support their families with their incomes too. People have understood the need of educating a woman and that old ideology is changing. The government is also providing an active support to women. But, things are still same in many parts of rural India. This should not be continued and the girls should learn to fight for themselves and prove the old superstitions wrong.

Thank You
