Answer:

1. Given-

a = 5, b = 3

So, a - b = 5 - 3 = 2

     = c = 2

Now, b + c = 3 + 2 = 5

     = a = 5

Hence, verified.

2. Given-

a = 23, b = 9

So, a - b = 23 - 9 = 14

     = c = 14

Now, b + c = 9 + 14 = 23

         = a = 23

Hence, verified.

Hope the answer helps.

Answer:

( i ) a=5 ,b=3

b+c= a

putting the values

3 + c = 5

c = 5 - 3

c = 2

a - b=c

putting the values

5-3= c

2 = c

or, c = 2

( ii ) a= 23 ,b = 9

b+c = a

putting the values

9 + c = 23

c = 23 - 9

c = 14

a - b = c

putting the values

23 - 9= c

14 = c

or, c = 14

b+c=a is same as a-b=c
