10 ways to keep our country clean:
1. Always carry a small poly-bag
A recycled paper bag would be just great. Use it to throw in little pieces of trash. ALWAYS.
We all know that there is a dearth of dustbins in our city. Let’s stop blaming and start doing.
2. Segregate waste at home in 3 separate bins
Biodegradable, Recyclable and Others. Yes this has been told to us time and again, and we do start, but it fizzles out soon (much like our new year resolutions.) If you are living in a society, you could talk to the management and get this system of segregation implemented there.
3. Re-use old bottles
You can do a lot of creative things with old plastic bottles instead of throwing them away. We saw some cool ideas on bored panda.
4. Compost pit
Its cheap, its useful, and your best friend if you have a green thumb. You can collect and separate out your food scraps before you head for the garbage. Find a compost collection site in your area and take your scraps there weekly or just utilize it for your plants.
5. Join a Community Cleanliness Drive
Trust us, it is much easier to do something when there are others doing it with you. You can join community cleanliness drives (insert link/ research more)
6. Use Fabric Bags
Instead of getting things from your vegetable vendor in a zillion tiny polythene bags, carry your own fabric bag when you go shopping. You have got to admit, a fabric bag has a charm of its own.
7. Live Clean Yourself
Keep your house tidy, get it cleaned regularly, declutter, live healthy, live clean. Try using all those cleaning hacks that we have in our blog.
8. Stop littering and dispose garbage properly:
We have a very bad habit of disposing the thrash right where we are sitting or standing. Don’t do that. Don’t litter in your streets, your society, the woods, the water bodies, or your surroundings. Start with yourself by being a model example and encourage others to do the same. Throwing thrash at wrong places never goes away, ever. It will find it’s way to effect you so dispose it in dustbin only for your own good.
9.Consume what you need:
Need and requirement are two different things. Here moot point is not how much you can pay for your usage but it’s about how much is left over this planet for an individual and how much we can consume. Excess use of anything will only decreases its availability and will go waste. Consider bigger picture and act accordingly.
10. • Dustbins should be kept at all public places like Bus stations, Railway stations, Gardens, Theatres etc.
• Dustbins should be kept at proper distance on roads.
• Proper waste containers should be kept in every area.
• Rules should be made and action should be taken if someone breaks the rule.
• Daily cleaning of public places is necessary.
• They should make public aware of importance of cleanliness and should tell them the after effects of not keeping it clean (like diseases).
• Proper public toilets are to be made and they should be maintained regularly.
I hope it helps u
